What a disgrace the corrupt councillors really are !!! How can we ever move forward without a new stadium. Storm the Town Hall I say !!!!!

Jul 19, 2000 03:20:22 turnerp@freenetname.co.uk Paul Turner Brighton England 195.147.173.199
As a supporter of a club (Brighton) that are also looking for a new ground we wish you well. The council need to consider the economic and social benefits of having a thriving football club in their area.
Good luck in your campaign

This decision appears very short sighted, this project will it help to provide an environment where football can florish in a decent environment in Grimsby. Also this will provide function rooms, a venue for concerts, conference suites as well as providing greater employment opportunities for the area. It is appreciated here that Grimsby FC has recently put the town on the map for more than just football. People remember that you have a vote at the next election.

What are the reasons for the decision?

Good luck guys. Don't give up. Away the DEEs

So much for democracy. I hope it's local election time soon. All football fans (and anyone who despises power-tripping tinpot officialdom) will be behind the Mariners on this one. All the best, Andy (Brighton & H.A.).

Jul 19, 2000 05:56:50 jimbleton@hotmail.com Jim Dundee 193.60.160.157
We had a lot of problems with our ground 2 seasons ago and nearly went to the wall, so we all understand how you feel. Good luck, and hopefully commonsense will prevail. Away the Dees.

Jul 19, 2000 06:18:21 brian@talgarth.freeserve.co.uk Brian Jones Brecon, Powys Wales 195.92.67.74
Councillors far too easily forget that they are accountable to the voting public who put them there in the first place and in this case, should listen to the voting majority. Preventing fans who happen to be councillors from not voting is just madness and it must be said that these idiots have no idea what democracy is.
Good luck..get this into the National Press.

Jul 19, 2000 06:49:44 united-are-shite@the-dees.co.uk Craig Perth Scotland 198.133.22.72
Whatever you do. Don't give up the fight for your new ground.
We have been through it all at Dens over the past few years and now things are looking up.
Make the politicians realise that they represent you, not whatever minority that are objecting to your proposals and eventually you will succeed.
All the Best !!

I've made my views quite clear on the message board.... but here we go again... The council are a disgrace. In some ways I wish I still lived in the town so I could vote in the next local elections!!! The council are a disgrace and the people of Great Coates are a disgrace to the town.... who do they think they are!!!
Up The Mariners....
In the words of Vic & Bob... We will not let it lye!!! ;o)

Jul 19, 2000 08:06:22 Magua@Chavignol.Freeserve.Co.Uk Mark Maguire Oxford England 195.92.194.42
An exiled Stockport Fan who believes that Councils should not just be "fair weather" supporters, i.e. When us small clubs have a cup run or similar, but must see that the interest generated in such a case is worth investing in and helping recreate on a more regular basis - good luck Guys!

21 The people of Great Coates are stuck up gits. Keep fighting. (Leicester City).

I wish you eventual success in your noble attempts to gain what is right and proper. Don't give up. We had enough dedicated and switched on people at my club (Brighton and Hove Albion) to keep things alive when we suffered ground "problems". I'm sure you do to. Very best wishes. Mike C.

Jul 19, 2000 09:01:16 steve.johnson@crewe-nantwich.gov.uk Steve Johnson Stockport Cheshire 195.62.220.165
Best of luck friendly fish folk! We're having our own little troubles at Stockport at the moment and you have my full support. You, like ourselves, will always be looked down upon by those who fail to see our importance. And to towns like Grimsby and Stockport we're vital. The sooner local councils realise that, the better off we'll all be.
Don't give up the fight!

Jul 19, 2000 09:06:41 chris.marsh@excite.co.uk Chris Marsh Bolton England 194.83.240.22
A terrible decision made by a terrible council. Hopefully all is not lost, and despite being here in Greater Manchester I am willing to do all I can to help. How about a couple of thousand fans marching through the streets of Great Coates?

Jul 19, 2000 09:35:17 chalnoth@hotmail.com Steven Robinson Grimsby UK 195.182.168.65
Does our council have a clue about what is best for the town! Auditorium no one uses, multiplex cinema not built yet, new road thats had to be changed already. For once admit you got it wrong and overturn your own descision.

Jul 19, 2000 09:53:56 leggetts@grimsby.ac.uk Steve Leggett Grimsby England 195.195.43.254
So are we prepared to sit back and let these people slowly choke our football club to death? These people who it is patently obvious do not have a clue about Grimsby and what it's people want, and who are probably only in office for thier own gain. We, the PEOPLE of Grimsby, and indeed all the other kind people who are lending us thier support on this injustice from not only all over this country (and that includes Scotland, Wales and Ireland), but also from abroad, need to do something to get this stupendously ridiculous small minded decision overturned, need to act together and show them that we will not be 'hushed'. Lets have a date when we can protest properly, perhaps even outside the Town Hall, any suggestions?
By the way, if any of you so called 'councillors are interested in the way we feel about our club, then come along to Blundell Park on Friday evening and watch the depth of our feelings, which will be cast out even to an Italian who no longer plays for us, yet will always be remembered and remain special to us.

Jul 19, 2000 09:53:56 coulspi@tinyworld.co.uk Paul Coulson Letchworth England 195.195.43.254
These people are a joke. It is a totally short sighted and the injustice from not only all over this country (and that includes Scotland, Wales and Ireland), but also from abroad, need to do something to get this stupendously ridiculous small minded decision overturned, need to act together and show them that we will not be 'hushed'. Lets have a date when we can protest properly, perhaps even outside the Town Hall, any suggestions?

I back the petition for a new stadium.
A Cambridge fan.

Jul 19, 2000 1:41:17 brian@deeboy.freeserve.co.uk Brian Lawrence Dundee Scotland 195.92.194.74
I am not related to the Ray Lawrence of Great Coates who wrote a comment on this petition, he is a halfwit. Democracy and common sense must win in this situation. As a Dundee fan, and like all Dundee fans, I know what benefits a refusal to lie down and take it can do for you. Rally and show the council a united front and make clear your intention of voting every one of them out at the next opportunity.
A successful football club in your area is more important than some halfwit's view of a main road.

Jul 19, 2000 10:31:47 smithhil@uniserve.com David Smith Maple Ridge Canada 204.244.158.198
Best of luck in your attempts to get the elected officials to come to understand that the continued growth of your club benefits all in terms of: development,PR for the area, and MONEY for local businesses (and Councils!!!)
All of Canada is behind you on this one.Regards...Smithills! Hope you finish second to Stockport this year. :-)

Nothing suprises me with NELC. The council is made up of also-rans full of their own self importance.
Most of them are on the take. Fact. Keep fighting. NELC is a house of cards. Take on one of them and they will all come crashing down.
