For the third time this season, doubt has once again been cast over whether or not the Mariners re-arranged tie against Wimbledon this evening will go ahead. Torrential rain has left the Selhurst Park pitch flooded and an inspection will take place later on today.

Last night's Worthington Cup quarter-final clash between Crystal Palace and Sunderland (due to be held at Selhurst Park) was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, and it seems that any more rain in South London today will cause a third postponement of this fixture. Last night's reserve match with Darlington also fell victim to the weather as it was called off after torrential rain in the north-east. Should the Dons game go ahead, Steve Livingstone, Knut Anders Fostervold, and Richard Smith will all face late fitness tests before Lennie Lawrence names his side. Peter Handyside, John McDermott, Bradley Allen, Paul Raven, Alan Pouton, Neil Murray and Kingsley Black are all definitely ruled out through injury. In other news, former triallist Antti Sumiala has signed for Bundesliga second division side Reutlingen. The 26-year old Finnish international spent a week with the Mariners, but failed to impress sufficiently to earn a contract.
