Stories coming in but not confirmed are that Danny Coyne is having talks with Aston Villa and that they have made an offer but Villa are prepared to wait until the summer to finalise the deal. This is only a strong rumour at present and we have had no confirmation yet.
There have been numerous rumours about Coyne moving away from Town and today manager Lennie Lawrence reiterated that Coyne was not going anywhere and the new keeper was to cover both Croudson and Coyne.
Grimsby manager Lennie Lawrence later told Mariners Net "Danny is not going to Aston Villa or any other club before the end of this season. I will be talking to him about an extension to his contract shortly and obviously I hope he won't be signing elsewhere in the summer either."
The Chances of the Welsh keeper playing for Town next season, however, sadly look slim, with a host of other clubs - including Aston Villa, looking to sign the Grimsby shot stopper in the close season.
