The Table |
Three of the division's teams still await their first victory of the season. Steadily improving Stockport were unlucky not to win at Wolves, Rotherham came behind against Norwich, and Sheff Utd are in trouble after their home defeat to Coventry.
Burnley continue to impress after seeing off Walsall's challenge, and Wolves are now the only team who hold an unbeaten record. Coventry moved into 13th place after the 1-0 win at Bramall Lane, and Pompey sneak into second spot after their 4-2 win over Palace in which Prosinecki starred once more. Preston also managed to collect their first win of the season - with Millwall being their victims.

After Tuesday's trip to Palace, Grimsby then face Stockport at Edgeley Park next Saturday. Stockport are without a win this season but have drawn their last two matches. Then it's back to Blundell Park for a midweek game against Gillingham. The following Saturday sees the squad head into Yorkshire to take on Jim Jeffries' Bradford at Valley Parade. It's then followed by a Friday night home match against Rotherham and then the big trip to Liverpool in the Worthington Cup third round.
