Norwich Manager Wants To Beat The Old Fox!

PHIL JEVONS and Bradley Allen will be expecting to play a key role on Town's game against Norwich tonight after their dazzling display against Birmingham. Ben Chapman will also be in the lineup again with Alan Neilson sidelined with a calf injury.

"Ben will fill in again tonight, but it's asking a lot week-in, week-out," said manager Lawrence to the Grimsby Telegraph.

"We played Friday night and Norwich played Sunday. With the 2.15pm kick off one assumes they must have traveled the day before, then went back again on the Sunday. It's a pig of a journey from here to Norwich and I would think they would have been back on the road again yesterday."

"We have to take that to our advantage. If they're fresher than us it's not good, but if they're better than us it's a different story."

But Lennie still thinks our players are capable of dictating the running of the game. "Stacy and Alan Pouton gelled perfectly in midfield. We've got quite a few fresh legs. Michael Boulding hasn't played much and neither has Stace. David Beharall hasn't played for a bit either and Ben is fresh. Brad is another with fresh legs and he hasn't played with Jevons before. They linked well together and they'll stay in, it's as simple as that."

"There was a lot of pressure and talk of that record (before the Birmingham game). But we removed all of that pressure by the way we started. We didn't begin the game like a team under pressure or one that had just lost six games."

"If we win we could go to Wimbledon and only be about four points off the play-offs, that's how close it is this year. Some of the bigger clubs will never have a better chance to get up."

Nigel Worthington Norwich's manager has his own ideas and looks like fielding an attacking side saying "There are options open to us. I made up my mind as to what formation we would be playing against Grimsby at 7pm on Sunday evening."

"Lennie's been around a few clubs and he's been in the game for a long time, the old fox. He knows exactly what the game's all about - but why can't the young fox beat the old fox?"

Striker Iwan Roberts has played as a lone striker in Norwich's away games so far this season and Lennie Lawrence issued warning about him.

"Roberts is as good a player of his type as there is in this division. I've not seen much of that Libbra and he was substitute yesterday," said Lennie who was at Selhurst Park to see Norwich in action.
