Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Wolves Team News

BRADLEY Allen (knee) and Stuart Campbell (calf) are Grimsby's main injury worries for Saturday's trip to promotion hopefuls Wolves, a game few outside of NE Lincs would hold any hope of the Mariners returning anything other than empty handed.

Campbell is the more doubtful of the two, as he is still feeling the effects of the calf muscle injury picked up in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Walsall. Allen, however, has returned to training following a bruised knee and is more likely to make the starting XI at Molineux.

Town boss Paul Groves is more than aware of Wolves' pedigree going into the game. Equally, after only picking up one point in the last two matches, despite leading in both, Grimsby urgently need to add to their points tally of 39 sooner rather than later.

"They have some quality players and they've proved it over the 39 games so far. " the Grimsby player manager told Mariners Net. "It will be difficult, but we've played against good strikers in Morrison and Freedman, who as a partnership have ended up as top goalscorers, so we can take heart from that.

"Dave Jones has an excellent record, and he’s done a good job at Wolves in a short space of time. They've always been tipped to do well at this level, but people have always labelled them as under-achievers when you consider the size of the crowds they get. But it’s not all that easy to turn things around, and turn it into a winning outfit. But Dave’s done that and credit to him".

After nine games during the previous month, Wolves' boss Dave Jones gave his players two days off at the start of this week. The West Midlands side, who have won 7 and drawn 2 during the month believes his players were due a break. "It will do them a power of good", explained Jones.
