Dixons Enter New Sponsorship Deal With Mariners!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 21/03/2002

GRIMSBY Town Football Club have confirmed that Dixon Motors will be continuing to support the club for a further season as main sponsor.

The current agreement was due to end in June but Dixon's have now confirmed their extension to the sponsorship.

Mariners Net report that there will be a new team strip which better displays the orange Dixon logo. The new home and away strip is currently being designed and should be unveiled before the end of this season in April.

Simon Dixon, Group Managing Director for Dixon Motors told the official Site: "We're delighted to continue our sponsorship of Grimsby Town. The club has had a tough season and we carefully considered all options before deciding that the strength of the relationship and success of co-promotion makes it worth continuing into season 2002-03. We hope that this news will inject new confidence into the team and that Dixon remains a Division 1 sponsor! We'd ask all fans and especially Dixon customers to pick up the pace with their support too."

Grimsby Town's Commercial Manager Tony Richardson who is responsible for the sponsorship programme said: "Dixon have been our sponsors since the first deal was struck in 1998, and we are pleased to extend the contract with such a spirited company. We're all looking forward to releasing the new kit, and we're sure our fans will love it!"

This is good news for the club who have had an ongoing relationship with Dixons for the last 4 years who recently announced an increased investment in the town and Grimsby Town Football Club should feel proud to be associated with that.
