Paul Groves Continues His Hunt For Players

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 27/03/2002

PAUL Groves lost out on another player he said which highlights the difficulties he is experiencing in bringing quality players to Blundell Park. This is the third player in two weeks that Groves has missed out on.

Although Earlier this week Groves was given permission to speak to Leicester striker Trevor Benjamin, he chose West Brom from a group of clubs looking to sign him says Mariners Net

Benjamin was said to have an impressive scoring record at Cambridge United but found it more difficult with Premiership club Leicester.

Mariners Net also said Benjamin was not the only 'iron in the fire' for Groves as would not want to see all the hard work of the past few months disappear with an injury to a key player for whom there is no back-up.

This seems to indicate that Groves is still hoping to strike it rich either today or tomorrow in which case we will see a new face at Blundell Park

We wish him well in his search and if his previous signings are any indication he will not settle for just anyone. So far his signings have been inspirational.
