THE heat is now on to offload Grimsby's Danny Coyne after his talks with Cardiff boss, Lennie Lawrence, look to have finally ended. The talks ended in stalemate again, after Coyne returned from the pre-season tour.

The Grimsby Telegrpah reported that Lennie Lawrence is understood to have opted to sign Martyn Margetson, Huddersfield's keeper who had been on trial with Cardiff. He is expected to complete a free transfer today

Other reports have linked Birmingham City to Coyne with Steve Bruce looking for a number of new players with other top flight clubs also in the hunt. Derby County were also rumoured to be interested in Coyne and they cannot be ruled out yet.

But despite a short reprieve due to Groves getting a budget allocation of 250,000 yesterday, the pressure is still on to offload Coyne and Jevons to cut the wages bill.
