TODAY it emerged that a lifeline might be available regarding the imposition of the transfer window by the powers that be. UEFA have announced that in order to help the 72 clubs outside the Premier League, they are allowed to bring in three players between now and when the window opens in January.
When the transfer window shuts in January, Football League clubs will be able to bring in three more players before the finish of the English season. This will help the smaller clubs still suffering financial hardship since the collapse of the ITV Digital this summer, and has made nearly all the clubs start this season with smaller squads than in previous years.
