GEORGES Santos said today he would love to sign for the Mariners. Although he is on holiday with his family in his native Marseille in the south of France while talks continue, He told the Grimsby Telegraph he wants the deal sorted out by the end of the week so that he can return to Blundell Park.

"We're still talking with Paul Groves but I want everything sorted out as soon as possible," he told the Telegraph. "Paul wants me to stay and I want to sign. My agent is doing all the talking and I will stay here until something is sorted out.

"At the moment I am enjoying seeing my family. But I want to play for Grimsby and I want to play for Paul. I want to come back. I miss my England. I love my England. I have had a good time at Grimsby over the last month."

Even if Santos signs he will have to serve a three match ban for his sending off against Millers on October 19.

"I got a three-game ban and I am very disappointed about the referee's decision. I needed to take a break and cool down. He punished me and not the other player. The referee said I punched him and I didn't. I pushed him, that's the difference."
