The Loan Arranger!

PAUL Groves has targeted two loan players after missing out on Birmingham’s Curtis Woodhouse. The Town boss wants both players signed for the crunch game against Bradford on Saturday with Stacey Coldicott, Alan Pouton and Georges Santos being unfit but is giving nothing away in who he is targeting

Groves is thought to be looking for a centre half and a midfielder.

"The weekend comes upon you very quickly and at the moment I'd say it's unlikely that we'll get anybody in before then,” said Groves to the Grimsby Telegraph.

"We're always optimistic and we've made more enquiries this week than in any other week since we took over.”

"We're desperately trying to get someone in - I think that says it all."

Curtis Woodhouse is thought to have taken a big pay cut, as both Rotherham and Birmingham haggling almost scuppered the loan deal but he eventually agreed to the move to Rotherham.

With Oster back at Sunderland after scoring 5 goals in 10 games for Town, the gaffer is on the look out for a suitable replacement, while the defence is threadbare with only Simon Ford and Steve Chettle being Town’s fit centre half’s.
