Hamilton To Sign Today?

EX-Cardiff and Newcastle United player Des Hamilton is set to join the Mariners today in pre-season training and boss Paul Groves is confident he will sign on the dotted line.

Des Hamilton Hamilton was set to join the Mariners on deadline day, but the deal fell through due to a technical hitch over his Welsh nationality. A player who is not afraid to tackle Hamilton was labelled a "90 minute player" when he was with Newcastle.

He joined the Mariners on loan on 27th March this year. The same day that Michael Keane joined.

Injuries prevented him from making more than 14 League Starts for Cardiff last season.

Des joined Cardiff from Newcastle United on a free transfer. He started his career with Bradford City in 1994 before he moved on to Newcastle United.
