Pouton Out For Three Months

GRIMSBY vice captain Alan Pouton will be out for a minimum of three months after undergoing surgery on his knee injury. The combative midfielder has been out of action since sustaining the injury in a pre-season clash with Lincoln in July.
However club captain John McDermott is nearing a return to first team action after taking part in a friendly again Doncaster yesterday, which Town won 2-1, and could be set for a place on the coach to Luton on Saturday. Midfielder Stacy Coldicott is also reported to be close to a return to training after finally recovering from the broken leg he sustained last season.
With three players set for three match suspensions after receiving red cards in the last week (barring any decisions by referees to change their minds, which looks unlikely) Town boss Paul Groves will be forced to use some additional players over the next few weeks.
