Gate Boost For Town!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 10/10/2003

WITH two upcoming home games in three days, rhe Mariners were looking at getting around a 3500 gate, but are now seeking a massive boost in atmosphere from hopefully a 5000+ crowd at least !!

How? Beginning with the Colchester game next Saturday, reintroducing the 2 kids for free scheme whereby 2 children, aged 15 or under can get in free, IN ANY STAND, as long as they are accompanied by at least one full paying adult.

The club are looking at taking over the 1900 seats in the Osmond Stand if necessary, as Colchester are expected to bring under 200 fans.

The scheme is sponsored and in conjunction with the NELC Study Support Centre who are also helping out by using their internal mail system to get vouchers & posters around the 84 schools throughout the region.

As usual, season ticket holders can come to the ticket office and claim their free junior tickets by showing their books to the ticket office staff.

If you have kids, this is your opportunity to blood them as Mariners fans or take them on a repeat visit or even just to give the Mrs a kid free afternoon!

But be warned! Once a Mariners fan, always a Mariners fan!
