Saturday's comfortable victory over Colchester was not without its costs, however, as central defenders Mike Edwards (broken nose) and his replacement Simon Ford (hamstring) both sustained injuries. Fellow centre back Tony Crane also picked up his fifth booking of the season, and will missed the trip to Rushden & Diamonds on November 1st.
Edwards' nose has recovered in time for him to be able to start against County, although it still needs to be reset at some stage, which will leave the former Hull defender out for at least two weeks at some point in the future. "I feel good in myself," Edwards told Radio Humberside. "It's still a bit swollen but it's stopped bleeding."
With Edwards likely to start against County, Marcel Cas and Jason Crowe both look likely to continue on the bench, as Town boss Paul Groves sticks to a winning line-up. The match is also loanees Iffy Onuora and Nick Daws' last scheduled appearance for the Mariners, although Paul Groves is still hoping to be able to offer both players contracts, or an extension to their loans later this week.
Struggling County have three injury doubts for the clash at Blundell Park, with Tony Barras (defender), Mark Stallard (striker) and Ian Richardson (midfielder) all carrying knocks which are likely to mean them missing out.
