Groves Sacked! - Updated

GRIMSBY Town Football Club have sacked Paul Groves today after his abysmal run as manager. The news comes as no surprise considering some of the recent performances and score lines.
Chairman Peter Furneaux told the Grimsby Telegraph that Groves would remain as a player.
"The directors were very, very disappointed yesterday and we share the fans' feelings. "We were hurt by the performance and the result. We'll be having management talks to see where we go from here and we need to have a plan about the way forward.
"We always hold talks with the manager after such a performance. We need to evaluate just where we're going and we need to talk it over with our staff."
Graham Rodger will be assisted by Neil Woods in temporary charge of the team.
The news will probably bring suggestions of who will replace him. (My bet is that Alan Buckley will be called in to see if he can help until the end of the season)
