LINCOLN City have dismissed any prospective move of Keith Alexander to Grimsby as just speculation, despite incessant rumours linking the Lincoln manager with his former club. Alexander is just a matter of days away from putting pen to paper on a new contract with the Imps.
Lincoln chairman Rob Bradley told the BBC: "People have put speculation together based on Grimsby losing their boss and Keith coming back to work. There was a Grimsby connection in the past but there's nothing in it at all.
"Keith has done very well for us in the past, and as a result we're just dotting the I's and crossing the T's on another contract for him."
The Blundell Park board met today to go through the applications so far for the post, after Paul Groves was dismissed on Tuesday. Graham Rodger and Neil Woods remain in charge in the meantime.
