THIS site is written by fans for fans and the latest installment of the new series of Cod Head of the Week is Jason Jackson.

We regularly need new Cod Heads, so would appreciate contributions from lifelong supporters of the Mariners. This week's Cod Head is Jason Jackson.

Fishy:
Tell us a bit about yourself.

Jason:
My name's Jason Jackson. I have been a season ticket holder for the past 7 seasons now. I work at Pleasure Island as a ride operator and I am also at college.

Fishy:
When did you first start supporting the Mariners, and what was your first game?

Jason:
I have been supporting the Mariners now since I was 7 years old. My first game was when I was 9 or 10, I think, when we played West Ham at Blundell Park in the F.A Cup and won 3-0.

Fishy:
Who is the best player you ever saw wearing a Grimsby Town shirt?

Jason:
My best player has to be Danny Coyne.

Fishy:
If there is one game you were allowed to go back in time and watch what would it be and why?

Jason:
It would have to be the Burnley game - it was just unbelievable.

Fishy:
What are your favourite and least favourite away grounds?

Jason:
My least favourite away ground has to be Doncaster's Belle Vue and my favourite is Derby's Pride Park.

Fishy:
What, in your opinion, are GTFC's best and worst seasons since you have been supporting them?

Jason:
My best season is the 1997/98 season; I will never forget that season. My worst has to be a close one between last season and this season.

Fishy:
What is the most eventful day you have ever had in the course of following the Mariners?

Jason:
My most eventful day is the Liverpool game. My Mum didn't know I was going to the game; she thought I was just going to school, but I didn't. I think I caught the half 12 train to Liverpool with a few of my mates. We got to the Ground and just witnessed one of the best games ever. Then I got home about 2am and there's my mum wondering where the hell I got to. I thought it was funny but I don't think she found the funny side of it.

Fishy:
What is the strangest thing you have ever done at a game?

Jason:
Two seasons ago, last home game of the season against Burnley, when everyone invaded the pitch I ran on and the next thing I turned round and ran straight into a police horse and knocked myself out.

Fishy:
Who is the greatest ever GTFC manager?

Jason:
It has to be Alan Buckley.

Fishy:
How many games a season do you get to now, and what do you do while Town are playing games that you can't get to?

Jason:
I go to all the home games and only go to away games if I am not working or have the money. If I don't go I always take my radio with me to work and listen to the match.

Fishy:
Name your all-time starting eleven since you have been watching Town?

Jason:

Danny Coyne
Tony GallimoreAndy ToddGeorge SantosJohn McDermott
Kingsley BlackPaul GrovesStuart CampbellKevin Donovan
Clive MendoncaJack Lester

Fishy:
What's the best-ever atmosphere you remember at a home and away game?

Jason:
Home game has to last season against Sheffield Wednesday. The crowd were singing the whole game, and to win 2-0 made it even better.
My away game is the Derby game on Boxing Day last season. The crowd was great and our barmy army was non-stop singing. The final score made it even better: 3-1 to the mariners!

Fishy:
Do your children support the Mariners?

Jason:
No I don't have children but when the day does come they will be wearing the Grimsby shirt with pride.
