Anderson to Leave?

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 09/07/2004

SCOTTISH winger Iain Anderson has gone to Dunfermline on trial, with a view to a move away from Blundell Park into the Scottish Premier League. The 26-year-old former Dundee midfielder has a year left on his contract at Blundell Park, and therefore would probably command a fee.

Anderson moved to Grimsby this time last year, and started off the season by scoring most of Town's goals in the first few games. However, Anderson's form dipped alongside Town's, and Grimsby have never really seen the best of the former Preston midfielder for any sustained period.

Russell Slade has made it clear in interviews that he only wants players at Blundell Park who wish to play for the club, and may be prepared to offload Anderson if he fails to fulfil this criterion.
