DARREN Mansaram has admitted that his future at Blundell Park is uncertain with Russell Slade reputedly having only enough money left in his budget is to sign one more striker.

With Mansaram already having competition at the club in the form of former Margate trialist Danny Holland and an unnamed 6'5" Nigerian target man (believed to be Sammi), the Doncaster-born forward admits his chances of being offered a contract are only 50/50.

"I'm not sure what there is on the table," the 20-year-old striker told Radio Humberside. "I just play my games and wait on the club to tell me to stay or go. I have had offers from some non-league clubs, but ideally you want to stay in the league.

"My chances are 50:50, but I think that I have done well in the two games I have played in. Hopefully I can do well in the game on Monday, and that will be enough to get a contract."

  • Town beat Gainsborough Trinity in a reserve friendly last night, with club captain John McDermott scoring a rare winner. Report
