Try Out For Robinson!

GRIMSBY Town boss Russell Slade has had permission by Brian Little to give Paul Robinson a run in the reserves today. Slade needs a striker and hopes Robinson can turn in a good display.

Slade told the Grimsby Telegraph; "I hope Paul will play some part in the reserve game. I'm still on the lookout for another striker and he comes here with a good reputation from Tranmere. We need a target man up front so the likes of Reddy and Parky can play off him. In games like the one at Wycombe on Monday, we need someone to aim the ball at, so we can hold the ball up and use the pace of our front two."

"When we are at home, the onus is on us so we play a little bit different, but away we could do with someone who can bring the other front men into the game and exploit the gaps.

"There are some possibilities of loan deals now that the transfer window has closed, but we'll have to wait and see. I would like to bring someone in though - three away games without a goal have shown we could do with added strength and firepower up front."

  • Town now will not be pursuing their interest in Bermudan striker John Nusum.
