Players Respect Slade!

COLIN Cramb has described manager Russell Slade as a "man I respect" and a "breath of fresh air" in Sporting Life's report on his signing.

"Every player respects Russell Slade," said Cramb. "Grimsby are a big club and I'm excited about the prospect of playing for them.

(Grimsby Town fans will be delighted to hear we have been promoted to the MASSIVE league of clubs!)

"I've got a proven goal-scoring record and I'll be looking to do the business for Grimsby."

He also explained why he left Shrewsbury after a fall-out with manager Jimmy Quinn.

Cramb added: "Jimmy allowed things to get personal between us, which was disappointing."

But Cramb is not the only person to have spoken about the player's respect for Slade and it is indicative of the dressing room morale. Whatever else Slade brings to Town, he has settled the squad, some of whom, where not happy with the climate last season behind the scenes.

It is also fair to say that the fans too have a great deal of respect for Slade and that is probably reflected in the increased attendance figures.

Long may it continue.
