SUSPENDED duo Michael Reddy and Terry Fleming will once again feature in Russell Slade's plans for the long trip to Southend on Friday night after missing last weekend's win over Kidderminster.

Fleming can be expected to come in ahead of the injured Stacey Coldicott in central midfield, whereas Reddy will probably have to settle for a place on the bench, unless Russell Slade returns to three up front.

With Rotherham striker Richie Barker turning down a permanent move to Blundell Park in favour of Mansfield this week, the biggest question mark is over what formation Slade will pick for the evening game. Last week Town played 4-4-2 for the first time this season, and looked the part in the first 45 minutes of the 2-1 defeat of Kidderminster.

Centre back Terrell Forbes was cleared of rape on Thursday, but is not expected to make an immediate return to action after spending two weeks in court.

Defenders Simon Ramsden and Tony Crane are both getting closer to returning to action following long-term injuries, but neither player is ready to feature at Southend.

The Essex side currently lie in a play-off position, just four points above Grimsby in the table, and have won their last five home league games by an aggregate score of 13-4.

Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson has been boosted by the return of central defender Spencer Prior following a knee ligament strain. Skipper Kevin Maher, however, will miss the game through suspension.

Southend's dangerman is no. 23, former West Ham trainee Freddy Eastwood, who arrived at Roots Hall in November following a loan spell with the Shrimpes. The former Hammer scored a hattrick on his debut against Swansea, and since then has gone to notch a total of 7 goals in 8 games.
