John Thorrington

A former Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen youngster who was chewed up and spat out of the top. American midfielder Thorrington learnt his tricks with Huddersfield Town, creating and scoring goals, and quickly earning himself a reputation at the McAlpine Stadium and in the league.

After recovering from a lengthy injury, Nicky Law signed Thorrington on a free transfer from Huddersfield in the later stages of the 03/04 season. Despite his decent track record, "Thorro" appeared only 3 times for Grimsby and was released after we got relegated.

John Thorrington is now with Chicago Fire after securing his US nationality.
