Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Who's Your Hero?!
Who's Your Hero?!

August Player of the Month

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 01/09/2005

THANKS to everyone who voted for their Man of the Match in the various games which have taken place during August. We have compiled all the votes and come up with a shortlist of six players, one of whom you can vote for as the August Player of the Month.

Home > 2005-2006 Season > Player of the Month > August

The six players are:

Rob Jones, a rock at the back in every game Town have played in so far this season, Jones looks twice the player he was when he first arrived at the club from Stockport reserves at the beginning of last season.

Steve Mildenhall. Every side needs a good goalkeeper, to protect not only the goal but the area around his box. Williams last season was one of the team's major weak links, and the uncertainty about the 'keeper had knock-on effects throughout the side. Mildenhall looks already to have overcome most of these problems.

Paul Bolland. Bolland has started well at Town, and probably been their best midfield player over the August games. His only slight misdemeanour was to get himself sent off at Barnet.

Tony Crane. Started the season off well, until the big defender was needlessly sent off in the home game with Darlington, Town's only defeat of the campaign so far.

John McDermott. Still going strong at 36 years old, Macca has played in every game this season. Scored a rare goal in the Rushden game, which could end up as goal of the season.

Michael Reddy. Although Reddy has yet to score a goal, he has terrorised most of the defences he has come up against this season, and won many a crucial corner/free kick/throw in for Town.
