TOWN head to Stockport for their third consecutive away game in a busy eight day spell hoping to continue their recent unbeaten run since the defeat by Carlisle. With no new injuries Russell Slade has the choice of fielding the same XI that almost won at Torquay on Saturday.

Slade's principal choice is whether to persevere with new signing Junior Mendes on the wing, or recall Gary Cohen, who has been one of Town's most consistent performers this season.

Ben Futcher's one match suspension starts on Saturday against Peterborough at Blundell Park, so with Whittle and Ramsden still injured the former Pilgrim is likely to line up alongside Rob Jones in the heart of Town's defence.

Struggling Stockport, who scored a last gasp equaliser at home to Rushden on Saturday, are also likely to be unchanged, although County boss Jim Gannon may promote the scorer of the late goal Liam Dickinson into the starting line-up. Ross Greenwood (heel) and former Town loanee Chris Williams (shoulder) are still injured.

Star striker Jermaine Easter looks likely to leave Edgeley Park during January, with several of Town's League Two rivals, including Wycombe, linked with the 24-year-old - who has scored 11 goals in a struggling County side so far this season. The question is whether he leaves before or after the Grimsby game.
