Slade In A Hole!

EARLIER this week, Boston boss Steve Evans said he was confident that Russell Slade would stick to the gentleman's agreement they made that Slade would not play Ben Futcher against his old club.
Evans said: "I have known Russell Slade for many years and one of his greatest traits is his honesty, so therefore, we should have no worries about Ben playing against us on Saturday.
"As expected, I kept my word to Steve Parkin regarding Jamie Clarke and I expect this to be the case again with Russell and Grimsby. I would be extremely disappointed if this proved not to be the case, but as I said I have taken Russell's word."
But Slade has a problem.
Because he is short of defenders through injury he may have no choice. But Slade acknowledges that they have an agreement but said; "It depends on the defenders we have available. He will definitely be included in my sixteen though."
However, being part of the sixteen does not mean Futcher will play and it seems unlikely that Slade would break his word.
But this is football and anything can happen. It will be interesting to see what the outcome will be.
