Boulding on a Comeback?

WE can confirm that ex GTFC hero Michael Boulding is looking for a new club after retiring in the summer. Boulding is currently on trial with strugglers Rotherham United and has impressed after two reserve outings.

Boulding retired in the summer after failing to secure a Championship club after turning down a one year deal to join Crewe. But it is now understood that the former Mariner has had a major u-turn and wants to get playing football again after being out for half a season.

Boulding, who left Town to join Barnsley after the departure of Paul Groves, played sixty minutes in his second outing for Rotherham at Barnsley. This is understood to probably excite Mariners fans who would love to see Quick Mick return and make a almost certainly deadly strikeforce with Michael Reddy.

A return on paper seems unlikely as the former Tennis pro turned down Crewe only in the summer saying he wanted to play at the highest level, so he may be out of our reach. If Town were to be in League One next season, however, it might make the prospect of a third spell at Blundell Park more likely for Boulding.
