Is football a business or a sport?

"I Want To Stay"
"I Want To Stay"

Slade's Ongoing Contract Talks.

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 10/03/2006

TOWN boss Russell Slade on Mariners Net today confirmed that he had received an offer of a new contract and that it had now gone to the League Managers Association.

This is not unusual, most managers, unlike players, do not have agents, and the League Managers Association acts on their behalf offering advice and legal assistance.

Slade said; "People think that because it is ongoing that there is a problem. There's not really a problem, I want to stay here."

"Hopefully we can get things sorted sooner rather than later."

On Craig Richards he said he would like to have another look at him. "He was due to play in our reserves game against Hull City and he's trained well. I'm quite pleased with him and it would have been interesting to have a look at him in our reserves."

"We are probably getting him back for the same fixture a week on Monday. "Perhaps that's our opportunity to have a look at him. We've seen enough in training now, you can only train so much."

"It is more a future thing and seeing what he's about."

"When you get an opportunity to look at a boy, who was a scholar in the Premiership, you've got to look."
