Rochdale Team News

GRIMSBY have two players out for Tuesday's re-arranged fixture with Rochdale, which is itself in some doubt and the subject on a noon pitch inspection.

Rob Jones is suspended after his sending off at Rushden, and top scorer Michael Reddy is at least a week away from recovering from an injury.

Midfielder Paul Bolland is a further doubt for the Mariners. The combative midfielder was taken off as a precaution in Saturday's 3-0 win over Barnet after experiencing a leg strain, but the midfield terrier is hoping to be passed fit.

Town boss Russell Slade is likely to bring either Junior Mendes into the starting line-up, and play either Mendes up front alongside Saturday's two goal hero Gary Jones, or promote Cohen to a striker and play Mendes on the right wing.

The Dale have no new injuries following the weekend win at neighbours Macclesfield and will name an unchanged team. Central defenders Gareth Griffiths (back) and Mark Jackson (ankle) have returned to first-team training this week, but the match comes too soon for them.

Rochdale are still nominally in with a shout of the play-offs, but their Spotland pitch, which is this season being used for both rugby and football, has produced a string of postponed games. Tuesday's game against the Mariners is the first of a busy spell of 12 games in 7 weeks for Rochdale.

Former Mariner Simon Ramsden is now at Rochdale and is expected to start for Dale. Rochdale's dangerman is top scorer Rickie Lambert, who scored the Dale's opening goal in their 4-1 defeat at Blundell Park. Lambert has already scored 16 times this season and is one of the top marksmen in League Two.
