Goodfellow Leaves Grimsby

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 03/07/2006

MARC Goodfellow has surprisingly joined League Two rivals Bury despite ending last season as a first team regular with Town. The pacy winger, who was out of contract in the summer, has put pen to paper on a one year contract with the Shakers.

Bury boss Chris Casper told the club's official web site: "I never mentioned Marc because I expected him to re-sign at Grimsby to be honest, but the opportunity has come up and we've jumped in very quickly to get him.

"There were lots of clubs chasing him and I'm really pleased that we have got him,"

It is not known whether Grimsby offered the 24-year-old a new contract.

Goodfellow joins Rob Jones, JPK Kalala, Andy Parkinson and Steve Milenhall who have all left Blundell Park this summer.
