McIntosh Arrives On Loan

GRIMSBY Town have signed 35-year-old Huddersfield defender Martin McIntosh on a month's loan. McIntosh will be involved in tonight's game against Mansfield, either from the start or as a substitute.

The experienced Scot started the first game of the season for the League One club, whom he joined a year ago from Rotherham. McIntosh's season was disrupted last year with a serious injury, but he has recovered and fought his way back to first team contention at the McAlpine.

  • Meanwhile long-standing Grimsby target Georges Santos has just signed for Brighton. The Cape Verdes international was close to signing for the Mariners over the summer, but contract talks broke down.

  • Town are also close to signing a midfielder, believed to be former crowd favourite Alan Pouton from Gillingham.
