THE Football League Awards are back and this season Grimsby Town fans can have their say on which Football League players should make FourFourTwo's prestigious Top 50 list.

Following on from the inaugural Football League Awards which took place in March 2006, the 2007 event will once again recognise footballing excellence on and off the field, with clubs and players honoured alongside fans. There will be 18 award categories in total, including a range of football awards and industry specific honours.

FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League players will also be announced at the ceremony which will take place at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday 4th March 2007.

Fans wishing to vote for the players they believe should be in the reckoning for a place in the Top 50 should visit http://www.fourfourtwo.com

The votes will be counted and a shortlist drawn up for an expert panel to judge.

Everybody who votes on the website will be entered into a draw to win tickets to The Football League Awards, to see the FourFourTwo Top 50 Football League players announced at the awards evening in March.

The Football League Awards are designed to recognise footballing excellence on and off the field, with clubs and players honoured alongside fans. There will be 18 award categories in total, including a range of football awards and industry specific honours.

Commenting on the return of The Football League Awards, the Chairman of The Football League, Lord Mawhinney said: "Following the success of the 2006 Football League Awards, this year's event will once again recognise the outstanding contributions made to The Football League by fans, clubs, players and sponsors.

"We want fans to get even more involved this year and they can do just that by having their say on who should make it in to The Top 50 Football League players."

The January issue of FourFourTwo magazine is out now, and contains further details of how to vote, and also a list of suggested Football League players from each club to get the voting started. Grimsby Town currently have Peter Bore on the list of suggested players, but fans can nominate others on the FourFourTwo website.

Editor of FourFourTwo magazine, Hugh Sleight said: "The fans watch these players week in week out, so we want as many of them as possible to tell us who they think are the best players in The Football League. We received a great response to the 2006 FourFourTwo Top 50 Football League players, and so we really wanted to hear the views of the fans this time around in the decision process.

"The Football League Awards are a great platform to celebrate the achievements of the players in The Football League, and FourFourTwo is proud to be involved for the second year of the Awards."
