Grimsby Till He Signs

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 28/12/2006

BIRMINGHAM have agreed with Grimsby a transfer fee for winger Peter Till, with a move possible when the transfer window re-opens on Monday. The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Blundell Park, is currently considering a contract offer made to him by the GTFC board.

The right winger has impressed during his loan spell at Blundell Park, and would be a welcome addition to the Blundell Park playing squad.

Peter Till told Mariners Net: "I've spoken to Steve Bruce and I am now weighing up my options. Steve's told me his views on the offer and I will now go away and think about it.

"I've really enjoyed it here and I think I am an Alan Buckley type of player."

Till, who has also been on loan to Boston and Scunthorpe, is optimistic something can be sorted out. "Hopefully I will be a Grimsby Town player when we play Walsall, I would be looking forward to that game because it is my home town club".

Several personnel changes are likely to take place during January, with players moving both in and out of Blundell Park, as Alan Buckley takes advantage of the chance to shuffle his pack during the month-long transfer window.

The last player who Alan Buckley signed for Grimsby was Michael Jeffrey in August 2000, shortly before his infamous sacking.
