Defender who signed on loan during the 2005/2006 season from Sheffield United. Looked sharp, clever and quick on his feet, came highly recommended by the coaching staff at Bramall Lane.
Francis started his career with Bradford City, and soon moved on to play for The Blades. Despite never featuring as much as he maybe should have done, Francis was a highly rated player amongst the clubs' supporters.
After his loan at Grimsby, he went on to finish the season on loan at Tranmere Rovers, before moving to play for Southend United permanently at the end of the season.
