Alan Buckley Answered All Your Questions

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 27/07/2007

SO now you know. Alan Buckley answered all your questions in one statement. For weeks now fans have been worried about the 20 goals a season striker we all want, questioning if Chairman John Fenty was supporting him and was he giving him enough money.

Buckley answered all that by telling the Grimsby Telegraph: "Everyone is itching for us to sign a front player but it's got to be one that knows how to play the game. People say to me are we going to sign a 20-goal striker but that's easier said than done in our position."

"The fact is, I think the people know I like footballers and they have got to be able to play a part in our build up."

"Gary Harkins has left the club and obviously it maybe frees up a little bit of finance for us and allows us to start looking at other things."

He also said he wants additional defensive cover.

John Fenty said: "there is money available to bring new players in"

He also said that he will back Buckley in whatever decision he makes.

"Alan has still got money in the budget. He is looking at that very clearly. He wants to make the right decisions and he is going to take his time and whatever he puts forward I am sure we will all be pleased with."

So there you are folks, everything's sweet. Have faith!
