Mansfield Team News

ALAN Buckley will have a full squad of players to pick from for the crucial League Two match with Mansfield on Saturday. North and Toner are both coming back from injuries, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

It's easy to forget about the two games over Easter with all the Wembley hullabaloo but if anything they are more important than the showpiece final against MK Dons at the national stadium. Grimsby are now only five points from seventh place and a play-off position after Rotherham were this week docked ten points for going into administration. Two wins in the Easter matches could lift Town very close to a play-off spot, if not actually in one.

Mansfield have just sacked their manager Billy Dearden and caretaker boss Paul Holland has taken up the reigns temporarily. They are currently second bottom of the league and desperate for points to lift them out of the relegation places.

Holland has been busy, making two new signings for Mansfield since he took charge. Scunthorpe's former Northern Ireland international midfielder Kevin Horlock and Darlington winger Neil Wainwright have both arrived at Field Mill in the last few days on loan and are likely to be involved in Saturday's game.

Mansfield have a terrible record at home. Since Boxing Day the Stags have gone ten games without a win in front of their own fans, losing nine of them.

Bizarrely Mansfield's away form is just the opposite. Since New Year's Day they have won six and drawn one of their seven games on the road.

Town's away form is of course excellent. Before Saturday's defeat to Darlington they equalled a club record of eleven consecutive away games without defeat.
