FRENCH trialist Mickael Buscher has spoken of his desire to sign for Town on a permanent basis after spending a week training at Blundell Park. The 21-year-old former Gretna striker is a free agent, who can either play in midfield or up front.

The Frenchman told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I would like the chance to show what I can do. I think a decision will be made on Wednesday and, of course, I would like to play for Grimsby.

"My last game was in March, with Gretna. That's six months ago and now I need to train and I need some games."

  • Town's reserves beat their Sheffield Wednesday counterparts 2-1 this afternoon in the Totesportcasino.com League Cup. Striker Danny North scored both goals, one from the spot.

  • Town are offering schoolchildren the chance to see Friday night's match with Bournemouth at Blundell Park on for nothing. The club are sending out special vouchers to the region's schools with details of the offer, which enables youngsters to get free tickets if they are accompanied by a full-paying adult on the night.
