Forbes Agrees to Sign

ADRIAN Forbes has agreed to move to Blundell Park and will sign later this week after agreeing to a two-year deal with the Mariners.

The 30-year-old former Millwall striker spent the end of last season on loan from the New Den, and scored the goal of the season in a critically important 3-3 draw at Barnet.

Town boss Mike Newell is familiar with Forbes, having worked with him at his former club Millwall.

Grimsby now have five striker on their books: Conlon, Proudlock, North, Forbes and Akpro. Nathan Jarman has often played up front as well.

The Mariners only expected remaining signing, the final piece in what is hopefully Mike Newell's promotion-challenging jigsaw, is a goalkeeper.
