Beat the Bookies: Week 6

BRADFORD'S win at Shrewsbury ensured another winning weekend for Beat the Bookies and it means that the profits for the season are slowly notching up.

This week decent bets seem to be few and far between.
Grimsby v Hereford. Both sides have had terrible starts and Town are decimated by injuries and suspensions. Anything could happen. Grimsby start as marginal favourites at 8/5. If they were playing anyone other than Hereford an away win might be the best bet. In the absence of more detailed team news, a low scoring draw might be worth considering at 12/5. Selection: Draw
Bournemouth v Lincoln. Lincoln had a great start under their new manager last week at home to Darlington and they have a much tougher task this weekend at Dean Court. Bournemouth have started well but have slipped up once or twice this season and it's worth betting on Lincoln now they have their wind in the sails of a new man in charge. It's quite unusual to start at a new job in mid-table so Lincoln were already not the worst side in the division by any means. City can be backed at 4/1 with Stan James. Selection: Lincoln
Bradford v Burton. After a poor start Bradford have really started to find form. They are short odds but look good value at Evens to win their fifth game on the trot against a Burton side who have not won in two. Selection: Bradford
This season we will again be trying out three different betting strategies:
- Fixed Odds
- Spread Betting on the Mini Performance Index with IG Index (25 points for a win, 10 for a draw, 10 for a goal)
- The Monkey (betting on Town to win each game 3-1, i.e. the complete absence of any betting strategy). The Monkey lost every bet last year.
Recommended Fixed Odds Bets
- 1. Bradford to beat Burton. . (Evens, Bet365)
- 2. Lincoln to beat Bournemouth. . (4/1, Stan James)
Recommended Spread Bet
- No bet this week
The Monkey's Bet
- Grimsby to win 3-1, 22/1 Bet365
