Conlon Transfer Listed

BARRY Conlon has been placed on the transfer list, along with three other senior players, according to the Grimsby Telegraph. In addition to the Irishman, Danny Boshell, Jamie Clarke and club captain Matt Heywood's names have all been circulated to Football League clubs this week.
Any of the quartet would be free to leave Blundell Park if another club is prepared to take them on and they agreed terms.
Boshell and Clarke and have both been on the fringes of the first team, while Matt Heywood has hardly played since being signed by Alan Buckley from Brentford.
The biggest surprise though is Conlon, Grimsby's top scoring striker and arguably the only genuine goal scorer on Town's books. Conlon has had disciplinary problems this season, and is thought to be out of favour with Town boss Neil Woods, but nonetheless it is a bold move for a player who did more to keep Grimsby up last season than anyone else.
Grim Rob Says: I've no objection to anyone leaving provided they are replaced by someone better. There isn't much time though for new players to get accustomed to the club, so we cannot afford to make any more mistakes in what is left of the transfer window.
