Casper Leaves Grimsby

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 30/06/2010

ASSISTANT manager Chris Casper has left Grimsby after less than six months at the club. Neil Woods spent some time selecting an assistant last autumn before unveiling the former Bury boss as his number two, but Town's relegation has precipitated Casper's departure .

Casper only signed a deal to the end of the season, presumably because of the Mariners' precarious league position at the time. Although The 35-year-old was offered a new contract following Town's relegation to the BSP, Casper's ambitions lay in the Football League and he eventually rejected the deal after finding a new post at a as yet unknown club.

Town have yet to appoint a new Assistant manager, although Robbie Stockdale earlier this month did become the new Youth Team Coach.
