Forbes on his way?

ADRIAN Forbes is training with Conference rivals Darlington with a view to a permanent move. Despite having a year left on his contract with Town, Forbes has been allowed to leave after an injury-plagued season with the Mariners.
Forbes played for Grimsby in the first pre-season game against Brigg, but it looks likely that will be the Londoner's last game in a Grimsby shirt.
Forbes was brought to Blundell Park by former boss Mike Newell, who had had some success with the striker when he was manager at Luton. Forbes though struggled with injury whilst with Town and never really had a settled spell in the side.
He'll probably be best remembered for the spectacular overhead goal he scored at Barnet, when Town drew 3-3 at Underhill in the 2008-2009 season. That goal went on to win goal of the season, and would probably be a contender for the greatest ever Grimsby goal.
