Ridley to have Operation

LEFT back Lee Ridley is to undergo a hernia operation this week but is hoping to be ready for the start of pre-season at the end of June. Ridley missed much of the end of last season with a recurrent groin injury and is going under the knife in a bid to put the problem behind him permanently.
In other news Gateshead have signed former Town midfielder Michael Cummins on a one-year deal. Cummins played under manager Ian Bogie at Port Vale and was released by the Mariners at the end of last season.
