Forest Green v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 02/09/2011

GRIMSBY head to Forest Green on Saturday looking for their first away win of the season and to try and shrug off the sense of injustice hanging over the club after two reasonable performances over the Bank Holiday but with no return.

Town have lost one non-contract player (midfielder Tyrone Thompson), but gained another (left back Jamie Green). Green is likely to start on the left side of the back four, with Bradley Wood switching to the other full back berth.

Town have no new injuries, just the three long-term defensive problems (Lee Ridley, Scott Garner and Gary Silk) currently receiving treatment.

One decision the managers have to make is whether to stick with the 4-3-3 formation which has not yielded many points, or to play 4-4-2 with two wide players.

Forest Green made no new signings before the transfer deadline, and will be looking to build upon a reasonable start which sees them currently just below the play-offs in seventh spot.

Defender Chris Todd has been injured since the opening game of the season.
