STRIKER Andy Cook has joined Grimsby from Conference rivals Barrow. The 21-year-old front man was out of contract with the Cumbrians, although his age means he will command a fee. Cook scored 18 goals in 60 appearances for Barrow, where he was top scorer last season.
The six footer started his career at Carlisle, but never played a game there. After loan spells at Workington and Barrow he eventually joined the latter club in 2011.
The Bishop Auckland-born striker told the Grimsby Telegraph: "As soon as I found out that Grimsby were interested, I knew where I wanted to go".
Cook, who has signed a two year deal with an option of a third year, will have to fight for a starting place alongside Elding and Hearn.
Grimsby are looking for several more players this summer, with about another ten expected to put pen to paper in the next few weeks,
