El Lincolnshire Classico Preview

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 25/12/2012

GRIMSBY will be without Ross Hannah and Scott Neilson for the trip to Lincoln. The pair have ended their loan deals at Blundell Park, and Neilson has already signed to play for Luton from the start of January!

Meanwhile Town are still trying to sign leading scorer Ross Hannah from Bradford but that won't happen until the transfer window opens in January, and the Mariners could well face competition from other sides looking for the Yorkshireman's signature.

As far as the immediate future is concerned Grimsby will have to make do with the players they have. Neilson will probably be replaced by Joe Colbeck whose suspension has ended for the red card received during the Havant game. Dayle Southwell is a likely contender to partner Andy Cook up front.

Lincoln got off to a terrible start to the season but have recovered and over the last 15 games the Imps' form has been that of a promotion-chasing side. It should be a much tougher challenge than the corresponding game last season (which Town won 2-1), with both sides having improved from that time.
