Woking v Grimsby Team News

GRIMSBY head to Woking for their first ever league game against a side from Surrey in Surrey. With Town's main focus now being on getting players ready for the play-offs more fringe players are expected to take part, as those who have bourne the brunt of the last few hectic weeks get a chance to lick their wounds.

'Keeper James McKeown has a toe injury so reserve stopper Greg Fleming could make a rare start between the sticks at Kingfield.

Other likely absentees are Shaun Pearson (hip), Andy Cook (shin) and Joe Colbeck (suspended), however winger Jamie Devitt is back from paternity leave.

Central midfield is going to be key decision area over the next four games. Craig Disley and Derek Niven have been first choice for most of the season but Andi Thanoj and Frankie Artus have impressed when they have played during the seven match unbeaten run, and it's far from certain who will be chosen for the play-off games.

Liam Hearn is another player staking a claim for a play-off place. Cook and Hannah look like Town's best pairing up front, but John Lewis, Hearn and Southwell all have two more games to impress the management team, preferably by finding the net.

Woking provide a good opportunity for Town's strikers as the Surrey side concede a lot of goals, as well as finding the back of the net themselves (they're scored more goals than Grimsby this season). The Cards have beaten Wrexham and Macclesfield in their last two games, but almost threw away a 5-0 half time lead at the weekend against the Silkmen (it ended 5-4). Town have already beaten Woking 5-1 this season at Blundell Park, when two stunning free kicks by Sam Hatton helped to give Grimsby a slightly flattering scoreline. Woking top scorer Bradley Bubb is out for the rest of the season, but the Cards have plenty of attack-minded players who can trouble Town, not least former Fulham midfielder Kevin Betsy.

Town beat Hayes and Yeading at Kingfield last season, who ground share with Woking.
