Bulls Frustrate Town

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 12/03/2014

GRIMSBY were left frustrated at their failure to beat Hereford last night, in a match they had the bulk of possession in, but struggled to create many openings. Town got off to a good start when Ross Hannah scored from the spot, but the visitors soon equalised, and after that Grimsby struggled to break them down.

The match did not get off to a perfect start when Connor Jennings arrived late due to traffic problems and had to start on the bench, meaning a last minute call up for Ross Hannah. Hannah, though, scored the opening goal from the penalty spot after John-Lewis was brought down in the box.

Hereford soon got back in the game with an equaliser, with Rod McDonald heading in a free kick from former Mariner Frankie Artus.

There were very few chances for either side with Hereford content with a draw and Town struggling to break them down. But the night could have had an happy ending when a header from Cook saw Town miss a glorious opportunity.

Town get another chance to get a much needed home win on Saturday when they take on Wrexham.
